Gift recs needed

Good morning ladies.  Tomorrow is DH's goddaughter's 12th bday... and I'm stumped on what to get her.  She's a very girly girl.  For her bday last yr I got her a cute outfit from Gap.  For Christmas, she requested a fancy bookbag (got for a steal online).  For Easter, I got her a little dress that works as a coverup.

But not sure what to get her for her bday!  Dh says if we dont' have time to get a gift before tomorrow night, we can just give her cash.  I know she'll enjoy it, but I like giving kids gifts.

Any ideas?  How about some cute shoes?

Also, I wanted to get her a swimsuit for Easter, but with her being in that in between stage and size, I couldn't find anything conservative enough that I liked... most were triangle bikinis that Godfather wouln't approve of.  LOL

If you want you can get her a cute VS Pink beach bag and accesories with other beach stuff.  That's always fun and she could feel more like a teen.

there is a pink store in aventura...not so sure about dadeland or the falls.  if you check online they have really cute bags and some jelly sandals that are adorable.  i think that would be a really cute gift for someone her age to feel a bit trendy and girly.

Oh Cynthia, that's a great idea!  A beach bag with cute flipflops... or a towel.  She'll love it.  And it being VS will be an extra treat for her.  LOL  Yes, all the VS down here have a HUGE Pink section... so there is plenty to choose from.

I like the VS Pink idea which is very trendy for her age group. Also, what about a gift card to a local manicure/pedicure place to get her hands and feet ready for the beach? Or if the Godfather doesn't approve of that, get a variety of fun, summery nail polish colors, nail files, toe separator thingy, etc. from Target or Walmart and fill the VS pink bag with those.

Padrino would be OK with getting some vanity... it's a girl thing!  But not sure if mom and dad will!  LOL

i personally love the whole girly beach/pampering idea.  i know not all parents allow for their daughters to get manis/pedis but maybe some lipsmacker gloss in the bag.  i believe they make those SPF proof now.  those were always fun when i was in middle school.

Yeah, I was thinking of getting some lip gloss / chap stick type thing and cream / body splash too.

Love all of the girls' ideas! The cute tote and flip flop idea is great. For a girly girl, I also love the idea of age-appropriate make up: cute lip glosses, colorful nail polish, and maybe even some nice, girly perfumes and body lotions.

The only other thing I can think of that would be fun and original is maybe concert tickets? If you know of any acts she likes that are going to be in the South Florida area in the coming few months, that might be a good one...

Okay, so DH didn't like the idea of beach tote and flipflops with body splash!  Men, they just don't know.  So, since I was invited out to lunch, I won't have time to buy a gift (usually go at lunch break) so I guess she's getting cash, or a GC if I have time to pass by Publix (love their GC racks).

If I get out of work early, I may try to pass by DSW and get her some cute / nice sandals.
