What's your favorite spot?
We always end up at the Isle of Palms b/c my parents are not far from there. I can't wait to get out there.
Re: Beach weather is here
My family ALWAYS went to Myrtle Beach for 2 weeks every summer when I was a kid (over 4th of July).
We were on a first name basis at our favorite restaurants etc... It was really sad!
I've only been to the beach once since I moved to SC and it was to Myrtle with my parents last year over 4th of july for just a weekend.
I'd def like to vist more beaches in the area though. I don't really have any MB loyalty.

So excited to meet Amelia Catherine!
Caper's Island because its only reachable by boat & I love the seclusion factor. It's a great ride from the Charleston harbor.
Folly Beach because it is close & laid back. I really love going to see the Morris Island Lighthouse.
Isle of Palms because we can take the dog year round & there is always plenty going on there.
Sullivan's Island because its close to downtown & anytime I can eat at Poe's I'm happy.
Kiawah because there are tons of paths & bike ways around the island to explore (I just have to make sure to stear DH away from the golf courses).
Holden Beach, NC because it has a great small town feel.
Carolina Beach, NC because its great to drive a 4 wheel vehicle right out onto the beach
Cape Lookout, NC because it is an uninhabited island with a beautiful lighthouse. Its great for camping.
Cape Hatteras, NC because even though its touristy I love the history with the move of the lighthouse inland (even though in 100 years it will be in danger again).
Bodie Island, NC because is its easy location to mainland NC (Manteo) & not as touristy as Corolla/Duck/Kill Devil Hills, etc.
Atlantic Beach, NC because its a great coastal town near Morehead City, etc.
I could probably keep going but these are my favorites that come to mind at the moment.

I am so in the minority here but I HATE the beach! I haven't been to a beach in years. I hate the sand getting everywhere, I hate being hot, I think laying out in the sun is BORING with a capital B. You would pretty much have to drag me kicking and screaming to a beach. Nothing about it sounds fun to me.
My sister up in NY on the other hand can wake up at 7 am, go to the beach for a million hours lay out in the sun (can you say Melanoma?) and repeat the next day.
You sound like my DH. He hates Sand, Salt Water, and Sun... yet I just convinced him to go on a week long trip to Jamaica in November. He must really love me.
I've only ever been to Myrtle Beach.
I actually don't like the beach that much. The last time I went was about 2 years ago. My hubby and I (we had been dating about 5 months at this point) took a vacation with my family. My dad invited him to go deep sea fishing (that's how I knew he was "the one"). I spent a lot of time under an umbrella and I swam in the privacy of my hotel's pool.
I like being able to see my feet and know what's going on under me. However, I do love walking on the beach and smelling the air.
My DH is the same way! His extended family goes on a big family reunion trip to the beach every year and he rarely goes out. I like to go out for a little bit at a time- not all day though. He started to go out a little bit when we started dating and he brought me.

Hehe don't worry that's the way I've felt my whole life. I've basically lived 2 hours from the beach since 1993 so a beach day trip was totally possible although all of those I listed I did not visit until 2002 and on. VA Beach & Mrytle Beach were in my young days when I had a different beach mindset. I love to travel. If its not obvious we love to travel. We're hoping to get out to Edisto one of these days soon. I've also heard great things about Tybee Island, near Savannah. The Florida Keys are on my list since DH & I are big into scuba diving. We've only done the Carribean once, on our honeymoon on the Ambergris Caye in Belize. Belize isn't the relaxing lay on the beach & listen to the waves type place, but we loved it all the same.
My DH is like most of you guys on here. He has too have something to do while we're there so I make sure the guys & beer are involved when we go. We've started bringing ladder golf & bocce ball to pass the time. I don't really get to lay on the beach & read a book like i used to love but this way my skin is safer. I have a tendensy to get sunburn whenever I leave the house. I'm nursing a spot on my back right now that I couldn't reach & forgot to remind DH to get it w/ sunblock.

We've always gone to Isle of Palms because that's where my family lives....
This year for vacation we're going to Hatteras! Any suggestions??
