What foundation do you wear?

I want to try a new foundation. I have normal to dry skin, fair skin, and don't want anything too heavy... all for under $15 - 20 (MAX)! Possible?? I've been using the liquid mineral foundation from Shelton's and I like it but I kinda want to try something new this time. Just for kicks! What do you wear?

Oh, and I'd prefer something I can get at a drugstore simply because I won't have time to go to a mall for about 2 weeks and I am on my next to last drop!

Re: What foundation do you wear?

  • Urban Decay Surreal Skin (it's mineral...but lasts forever...and has a sponge applicator) - it's more than your price range, but again it lasts forever.  You can get it at ULTA
  • I use Revlon ColorStay. It's like $10, and I LOVE it!
  • I'm not sure on the exact cost but I use Clinique foundation in the square bottle...for normal/dry skin.  I also apply the foundation with a brush, not a sponge.  I get a more even application and it also helps my foundation bottle last forever.  It looks really natural and feels great on my face.  I think I just ran out of my foundation after 9 months and I use it pretty much every day.
  • I use and love Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, but I'm sorry that doesn't help since it is at the mall!

I hear good things about Revlon Color Stay like the previous post said.

  • I use MAC Select, so I don't have a rec for you other than you can go to makeupalley.com and search reviews.  You could browse under the "Best Value" category and then filter by your skin tone/type.
  • I don't use foundation...I use Mac pressed powder, "Studio fix."  It works so great and you don't feel like you are wearing make up.  I consider it cheap b/c I don't put on powder after...it is like a two in one.  You can order it online.

  • I use clinique pressed powder.  I have been using it for years and still love it.  The coverage is light but gets the job done. :-)
  • I wear Estee Lauder Double Wear.

It's higher than your price range, but for me, it is the only foundation I've tried that actually matches my skin tone.

  • I wear Trish McEvoy.  Like pp, it isn't in the price range, but it is fantastic, and it is the only one that matches my super pale skin.

  • Thanks! I will check those out! I'm not really tied to my price range, I just figured it was a good range for drugstore stuff :) If I can make my current stuff last another week or two, I may hit up the mall and see what I think of the other recs too!
  • If you go with a drugstore brand (or anything for that matter) just make sure mineral oil is not in the ingredients and preferably a good SPF.  I use Laura Mercier oil free tinted moisurizer, while it's a little pricier at I think 42 a tube, I've had my current tube since early December and it's still going strong.  I also use Makeup Forever High Definition Foundation which I love, it creates a very airbrushed look and looks good in pictures.
  • I use neutrogena healthy skin enhancer....which is in your price range.
  • I use Mary Kay's tinted moisturizer that has an SPF in it as well.  It's like a 3 in 1: moisturizer, light foundation, and spf.  the price isn't bad and you can order online.

Another Laura Mercier fan here.  I apply it with a brush and it lasts forever - at least 6 months!  It's light, good coverage, and has SPF.

  • I love, love, love Estee Lauder Double Wear - a little pricier but I think it is totally worth it.
