job interview thank you?

what do you say in a thank you note to someone who interviewed you.

Re: job interview thank you?

  • Generally, you reiterate things you spoke about in the meeting, restate your qualifications, etc. If you google interview thank you letter you should find some good suggestions. Here's a copy of one I wrote for a teaching position (and incidentally, I got the job) ?:

    Dear_____,

It was a pleasureto meet with you this afternoon. I would like to thank you for interviewing mefor the _____ position. I am very excited about this position and Iappreciate the time you spent telling me about the job and learning more aboutme.

I really enjoyedhearing about your curriculum and all of the wonderful lessons that aretaught in kindergarten. It is evident from our meeting that you are apassionate teacher who truly cares about her students and I would be thrilledto work with you. I am eager to bring my own passion for teaching to the _____ community. In addition to my qualifications and experience, I will bringenthusiasm, creativity, and the ability to encourage students to yourclassroom.

Again, thank youfor meeting with me and taking the time to consider me for the position.

    Sincerely,?

  • A few points I always try to hit:

-I appreciate your taking the time to meet with me regarding my possible position/employment at ___ as a ___.

-I was very interested to learn/hear about (put in something the interviewer informed you about regarding the position or the company- shows you were actually paying attention and have some sort of memory)

-Try to put in something personal or amusing that came up in the interview to make yourself stand out (a friend or co-worker you have in common, or a hobby you share)

-I am very excited at the prospect of working for ___ as a ___.  I believe my ability to (list some skills) will enable me to flourish in this position and I am eager to bring my (list some more skills) to ___.

-I look forward to hearing from you at your convenience.

Just some quick ideas, the wording isn't the greatest but I think that gives you an idea.  Good luck!
