I had hoped he was better than

for 50 games.....ouch! it's a shame that today's athletes feel the need to use that stuff.
I'm not the least bit surprised...which is sad.

Conseco called this two months ago. He knows who the 100+ players are on that banned substance list.
I heard on ESPN this AM that he is claiming the reason he tested positive is from medication that a dr prescribed him for an undisclosed illness. Boys, you got caught - stop with the lies, it makes you look even more ridiculous.
The article I read said 50 games is standard for a first positive test. For a second it's 100 games and for a third it's a lifetime ban from MLB. It's only til July 3, so a month and a half. Manny will treat that as a vacation for him.
I'm a huge Sox fan, and I have been saying good riddance to Manny since the day he left. His antics were funny for a while, and I will always get a kick out of the fact that he used to go inside the scoreboard to take a leak while pitchers were warming up, but really, he's pretty much a douchebag.
It is sad that players do this, though. And the whole asterisk on the HR record is completely justified, IMO. Baseball has changed a lot since the old days . . .

I love Manny. Always have. He did a really stupid thing by taking those drugs (it's not a mistake, he did it intentionally) BUT, all the performance enhancing drugs in the world aren't going to give you the ability or talent to hit a 98 mph breaking ball.
I'm not downplaying the drug use. It was wrong and he deserves the suspension, I'm just saying that the drugs didn't give him the natural talent.
Amen to that.?
