Is your house guest ready (would you be embarrassed if you had unexpected guests drop by and see the common areas as is)? Well, guests don't go in bedrooms, so I suppose I wouldn't be too embarrassed by the condition of the common areas.

If you had to prepare a meal right now for you and DH, do yo have ingredients to do so? Doesn't have to be a fancy meal... just something edible. Yes, I always have a box of pasta, a jar of alfredo sauce, and chicken breasts handy. That is always my go to meal.
Do you have shoes by the front door? Not mine... DH! He walks in the door and takes them off there. I picked up two pairs yesterday, but never went back for the other two. They are waiting for me when I get home.
Is your kitchen organized and presentable? So so. I picked up some, but DH came home with 2 cases of wine and lined them all up on the island. He said he'd organize them in the cooler, but never did. I dont' think that much wine actually fits in there, so I have no clue where we'll be putting the rest. I guess we'll just have to start drinking!

Is your house guest ready? Yes, I always make sure before I leave in the morning that the house is presentable. Even if it makes me late for work
Do you have food to offer such guests? No, the fridge is bare. But I do have drinks to offer unexpected guests! And there's a meat market not even 5 minutes from the house so I always have a back-up plan.
If you had to prepare a meal right now for you and DH, do yo have ingredients to do so? Yes, but it would probably be bland. The fresh veggies and fruits supply is depleted until the next trip to Publix.

Honestly, it is my bedroom that is driving me insane... and making me feel like the house is upside down! I think that when I get to it tonight, I'll feel a lot better!
DH was away last wkend, and his bag is still there w/ some stuff in it. His toiletrie (sp) bag is hanging in the bathroom, unpacked, except for the essentials. Knowing there is stuff to iron is killing me too! Tonight I should get it in order... hopefully.

My grandmother always said keep your house presentable because you never know who's going to drop in. I try to keep the house presentable, but then DH comes home and all my hard work goes down the drain. How can one person be so messy?
Do you have food to offer such guests? All the time. I stock up (read: horde) on food like others stock up on toilet paper. I love to grocery shop and Publix has one of their good BOGO sales right now. Plus, there's always gumbo in the freezer.

The guest room isn't as ready as I would like, normally I freshen up the sheets, put in some extra towels and blankets and just fix it up a bit to make it cozy. When guests aren't here its a bit stark. If people showed up unexpectedly I would "need a moment" to fix everything LOL

Our house is a big mess this week
With me having been in finals and with the pregnancy exhaustion, things have just gone to crap. DH tries really, really hard to pick up the slack, and he DOES, but it's just not the same as when both of us pitch in and work to keep the house clean and organized. We're going to do some major cleaning this weekend.

I usually try to keep the dishes and stuff picked up but the dog toys are all over and they found one of my stuffed animals and ripped all the stuffing out of it and DH refuses to pick it up even though he was home for lunch today. =( that will be the first thing I do when I get home.

Is your kitchen organized and presentable? It is. I try to maintain it as much as possible every time I cook something. Now- If I had time to actually prepare for guests I would do a good scrubbing and put away some of the applicances that are out on the counters.

DH works from home, so you can imagine the mess I find when I get home everyday... gatorade bottles everywhere, paper plates, the dishes not done... and since i haven't been home much with my 2 jobs (teacher by day, opera singer by night) that leaves him plenty of time to make a mess. fun.

Do you have shoes by the front door? Not right next to it, but nearby... under the ottoman and stuff... at the current moment I think only DH's though... I try to do a sweep once in a while and get mine. Then they gather inside the bedroom next to the closet door
