Anyone work at IUPUI?

I was just curious! I applied for an administrative position, nothing executive or faculty, and am curious how long your app/interview process took if you remember. Thanks.

Re: Anyone work at IUPUI?

  • i work at IUB, and if IUPUI is anything like IUB... well, the whole app/interview process takes FOREVER! seriously, be prepared to wait weeks and weeks before they even call for an interview. sometimes they don't even have the common decency to contact you if the job's filled (to let you know that they're not going to interview you).
  • I applied a couple of years ago for a TON of admin jobs at IUPUI.  I only got an interview for one of them, and the interview didn't happen until a couple of months after I had applied online.  About a month later I got an email requesting a second interview with me, but I had already found another job by then.  There were some positions that I applied for that I got emails about a year later saying they had filled the position and some were asking me if I was still interested!  They take forever!!
  • Ugh thanks. That's disheartening! I applied for two and on the "check the status of your app" page my resume was forwarded to the department. When even that took 3-5 days I knew it would be a long journey. One of the listings is off of the job listings so hopefully I'll at least get an interview for that. The benefits are great, so it might be worth waiting for! It says on the page something to the effect of "the application process might take up to two weeks". Ha!
  • I work for IUPUI and my process didn't take super duper long for the job I was hired for...I had applied for two at the time and the on dept I never heard a word from for weeks and weeks - I thin kit was about two months into my job I found out they had decided not to fill the position at that time.

The job I was hired for - the process only took a few weeks but I had a connection with a couple of people oin my office - specifically my boss so that helped a little.

    Best of Luck!!

  • Thanks. It's not liberal arts is it?? Wink It sounds like you need to know someone there to get things moving along. I just REALLY need a job right now and have always wanted to work there, so I'll keep hoping. I've let myself get too psyched about the possibility though, which I know is a bad thing.
