XP: Marriage License Copy
Hello-
New-ish (well, new-ish to this board) Nestie here. I had a quick question about marriage license copies....how long did yours take to come in the mail? Is the customer copy we got from the pastor enough to do the whole name change thing, or do I have to wait until I get a certified copy?
I am slightly nervous- our pastor was a little scatterbrained and I'm worried we are not really married!

Ours took a few wks. I know that the DMV won't accept the copy it has to be the actual marriage license along with your new SS card.?
Before our expiration date on our license was coming up we received a letter from the registrar-recorder's office notifing us that we needed to submit our license. Our priest sent ours a bit late, but they did received it before the expiration date.?

We got married on April 25 and I called yesterday and they said the marriage had been recorded already so I went down to the office and picked up 3 certified copies.. Our Pastor didn't mail in the part to request it by mail (my mistake).. But it actually worked out better because I already have them and going to start the name change on Monday....
