How rude!

I get lots of scam-like telemarketing calls on my work line. 2 to 4 times a day.  They are about car warantees, credit scores, and caribbean vacations.

So I have slowly but surely been trying to get rid of them (because it's a real pain when I'm busy), by choosing the menu option to be removed from the list, or choosing the menu option to speak to an associate, and then asking them to remove me from the list.

So today, I "pressed one to speak to an agent," and this is what happened:

Associate: Credit whateverwhatever, how are you today?
Me: I'm fine, thank you. I'd like you to please remove this number from your call list.
Associate: I'd like you to remove your FACE from my BRAIN!!!!
Me: Just take my number off the list, this is an office and you're calling twice a-
Assocaite: (cutting me off) BLA WHA GAH DAH (unintelligable) (hangs up)

Well, wasn't that pleasant.

Re: How rude!

  • omg - how awful!  Senator Schumer (NY) is actually calling for congress to look into the car warranty calls because they are getting ridiculous.  I've started getting them here at work and when I ask to be removed from the list they generally just hang up on me.

I get the warranty one at least once per day!  They hang up on me too.  I just registered my direct line with the national Do Not Call list - hopefully that will help, but it takes 30 days to take effect.

  • While I TOTALLY agree that the associate was rude. I have to admit I got a lil' chuckle at their strange responses! That is a unique concept...just speak gibberish. Perhaps you should do that to THEM next time you take a call! ha ha ha!
