Organic U-Pick Berries/Fruits
I know we're getting close to strawberry season in Oregon and I would like to go pick some to make jam. Ideally, I want organic versus conventional. Does anyone have any recommendations for organic u-pick farms in the area?
Re: Organic U-Pick Berries/Fruits
I can partially be helpful.
We have picked strawberries at Kruger Farm on Sauvie Island for the past two years. I don't know if they are organic - I doubt it. Tip: walk around to find the best patch. We usually find there has been less picking furthest from the parking lot
We pick all our other berries at West Union, near Banks/Hillsboro. Again, I don't know if they are certified organic, but they are no-spray. They have every berry imaginable (except that I don't think they have strawberries).
We pick most of our black and rasberries at Smith Berry farm out in Scholls and every time I drive out there I follow signs to an organic strawberry farm nearby. I don't know the name, in fact I'm not sure it has a name, its a small farm behind a little farmhouse yet I've always been able to pick tons of ripe strawberries. Good Luck!
