Hi!! DH and I are hoping to take a relaxing weekend vacation for our 2nd anniversary. We're planning on going to Sanibel Island (we've heard that it's good for getting sea shells) the weekend of June 19th.
Any tips for hotels/restaurants/activities?
Any recommendations for other beaches that we may enjoy?
Thanks so much for your help!

Re: Sanibel Island
If you are driving down to Sanibel Island, I highly recommend driving a little bit farther and going to Captiva Island. It's beautiful there! They have great sea shells, although you have to be there first thing in the morning if you want to be one of the first shell hunters.
For a casual lunch spot, and some great photo ops, check out The Bubble Room! The desserts are quite good, and very large! lol
I never ate at either of these restaurants, but I've heard positive reviews on Mucky Duck and The Green Flash.
Have fun! We visited Sanibel and Captiva earlier this year and had a fantastic time.
I love Sanibel and Captiva Islands. We have eaten at the Sanibel Steakhouse and Matza Luna though quite a few years ago. Both were really good.
You can rent bikes and ride through the JN Ding Darling nature preserve. It was really neat.
You can also see the Thomas Edison estate though that is not on the islands.
Ditto this recommendation!
We've gone to Sanibel for a week for the past few years. We love it.
Fave restaurants:
Island Cow, Schnapper Hot's, Timbers, Matazluna, Gramma Dot's (best key lime pie on the island), Doc Fords
Sanibel and Captiva Islands are extremely close and are separated by a short bridge. From my experience earlier this year, Captiva had just as many nice shells as Sanibel.
