Plumber Rec

The bathtub drain in our guest bath is draining kind of slow so I wanted to get someone out to take a look at it before it becomes a bigger issue. Any recs would be much appreciaited!

Re: Plumber Rec

  • Have you tried good ol' Draino? I would try that first. Sometimes hair gets caught up in our drain and that's what we use. Other than that, I can't rec. anyone...sorry! Good luck!

Yeah we tried that, but it didn't really do anything. I think there may be an actual obstruction in one of the pipes...a chunk of metal or something.

  • Do you have new construction? My friend moved into her house and there was construction debris stuck in her drain. The builder they bought their house from had to get it out. Good luck again...I have no recs again! :)
  • I don't have a plumber recommendation, but you could try one more thing. There's this long, zipper looking thing you can buy at Walmart for cheap. It's white plastic and looks like it has little teeth on it. All you do is put it in the drain and pull it out. It pulls out lots of hair. Even though it says just do it once, I've put it back in the drain to get out the remaining hair. It really works well! GL!

Thanks for the tip, we'll have to get one of those! Greg ended up digging around the drains and he said he found a lot of hair. GAG! We decided to just replace the toliet and see what happens. He did that this morning and says everything is working great now. Yay for no plumber visit!
