So, since I know we have quite a few teachers frequenting this board, and it is the end of the year (which means lots of field trips)...
What has been your favorite kid friendly place for field trips?
We always run out of ideas, and every year we take our SpEd kids on a special field trip, since they work so hard. Last year we went to the Rolling Hills Zoo in Salina, which was fabulous, and this year we are going to the Tall Grass Prairie Nature Reserve near Strong City, but I am always looking for new ideas!

Re: Field trip question...
Let's see here. People at our school have gone to: The KC Zoo, Paradise Park, Mt. Gilead Historical School, Coterie Theater, Discovery Center, Kaleidescope, Wonderscope, Burr Oaks Nature Center, and Red Barn Farm that I can think of!
I went on a field trip this week. Boy, they wear me out!
I am a Girl Scout Leader, and they really enjoyed Union Station--they learned about how and when the railroad was built, they get to do mystery quizzes, they also always love Power Play. Oh and let me not forget to mention Marble Moon Company in Bonner Springs.

Depending on their age, what about Kaleidescope inside Hallmark?
There is a book called "Kids guide to Kansas City" by Shifra Steing. I believe Borders carries it. It is great for info.
