Ask away now if you have questions. We were there in September for the 3rd time. The one recommendation I have for you is to buy your floats for the pool/lazy river before you go. I just bought the swimways spring float on amazon.com.
Re: edsCT**
I did read to bring our own floats, so that I will definitely remember that. I am interested to hear a bit about the night life/casinos, if you have any experience with that.
Also, to keep costs down, I would like to try to cook/BBQ a lot and was just wondering how easy/accesible that really is. I wasn't planning on renting a car to get to the store, but do you think it's necessary? Do the units come fairly well stocked with utensils?
Lastly, (for now!) have you taken the early flight out of Hartford? We were planning to fly out of Hartford, and of course, we want to get there as early as possible our first day. I know you mentioned flying around nap times, so that makes me think you might get leave a bit later.
Thanks so much for all of your suggestions/advice!
Kitchens are well stocked and will have mostly everything you need. There is a IGA 2-3 miles away and all the food is flown in from the US or Argentina. We actually shop for more food in Aruba in then we do at home since we have time to cook it. There are BBQs onsite, but no tools in the room. We are actually bringing a cheap flipper that we can just leave. Also, I try to think about what we are going to make and bring the spices or small little things I will need instead of having to buy EVERYTHING. Also, if you like coffee, buy bottled water to make it with. It will taste much better.
We have done the Kukoo Kunuku and it is fun if you are with a big group. Next we want to do the Tattoo Party Cruise. The casino on site is small, but fun. There are a few in the city that are nice too. I love Carlos and Charlies (yes the famous place) it is a big party.
We took a atv tour and it was fun. This time we are probably going to take our daughter to the butterfly farm.
in the past we took the 6 am out of hartford to miami on AA. We have taken Jetblue out of NYC, and it is sooo nice to fly direct. The only reason we didn't this time is that we found the tickets $200 cheaper out of Hartford (it is usually the opposite) on US Airways.
Anything else I can help me with, let me know.
