help on seacoast

hey guys,

my cat climbed a pine tree yesterday.  The lowest branch is about 20 feet up and she is another 10 feet higher stuck, she has been up tehre since at least 5pm last night, we can't convince her to get down.  I called the police but they said they dont get cats out of trees and neither does the fire department, guess that is only in movies.

Anyone have any ideas or know who I can call??

-thanks

Re: help on seacoast

  • You can try calling a local tree removal service. They will have a crane that can reach. You'll probably pay a bit for that though.

  • Oh that's so sad. I seriously thought the fire dept. would help! Would the humane society or local shelter have an idea for you? GL poor kitty
  • Wow - I seriously thought that was something the fire department would do.  Hope you found someone to get her down!
  • Try putting a blanket or something near the tree that smells like the house (I know it wont be easy with the rain that has come!)..... often times the smell of the home is enough to pull the cat out of the tree. I know it sounds strange but it can work.. .its worth a shot.

Worst case you can rent something like a cherry picker from Exeter rent-all or similar which can get you up to the height needed. Just make sure it doesnt scare kitty further up into the tree!
