Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

i'm miserable now...... (kinda long)
We were just told that only dir and above will be allowed to carry bberries. Mind you I have one as I'm paged a lot (along w/my coworker), sometimes have after hours calls to be on, etc. I am also charged $120/yr for this post tax!!!! So now we will go to an oncall setup - I will be giving up my laptop as it will be an oncall one, we will have cell phones now and when we are paged will have to address them when we are oncall. Now I may have to come into work (45 min commute across time zones) if need be.
I can't move b/c DH's job is so demanding and he has to be in the same town as the university where he works.
Of course my coworker thinks that it's unfair that I have a laptop and she doesn't, but she lives in town and would have to come into the office unless the above scenario is put into place. It would mean I'd have to get a desktop instead.
Oh and did I mention we would still get charged the $120/yr for a cell phone we'd have now that is only $20/mo?!!?!? I'd in essence be paying for 1/2 of it for the year.
I don't have DSL as we use DH's computer for things and I was able to work from home w/the bberry. Now we'll have to tack on that expense.
I know I need to be grateful for having a job, but this is beyond ridiculous. If I'm driving in all the time or on the laptop all the time when I'm on call, I will be even more miserable than I am now.
So they think by cutting back this expense it's going to help!?!?!? uh no, b/c now morale will be down BIG time. This place just doesn't think.
