Any Nurses in Fort Wayne?

Hi! I live in Chicago, but am moving to Fort Wayne in a few months... any recommendations as far as hospitals/good jobs?  I work in an ICU, have lots of experience... thanks in advance for any help!

Re: Any Nurses in Fort Wayne?

  • i'm from fort wayne, and my mom is a nurse in the fort.  she's an RN,ONC so she does orthopedic stuff.  are you looking to stay as an ICU nurse?  do you want to stay with a large hospital or go into private practice?  i'll be up in fort fun this weekend i can can ask my mom about it.
  • Parkview is a big Fort Wayne system. Their big one is dubbed "Parkview Main." It's the one on Randalia Rd, I believe.

I work in the poison center, so I talk to hospitals all over the state. I don't actually know anyone who works there, but their ICU people seem to be on the ball. They seem to have a good reputation with the public, and they can handle almost anything there.

Lutheran and St. John (or is it St. Joe?) are the other systems there. I don't have as much experience with them.

  • st. Joe.  and there is also Dupont on the north side of town too
  • Thanks!  I am thinking about doing something less intense, better hours, no weekends, but I know thats hard to come by!  Great to know the hospitals though!
