Where do you go to change your name for your social security?

How long does it take?

You have to go to a social security office to get it done. It took me a while because I went during a bad time. I went to the office in Kissimmee, but I'm not sure what office is closest to you.

I mailed my name change application in...and sent two id's with it. (i think it was two, the application tells you what you need) and I got my two identifications items back and received my new card in like two weeks...it was a better option than sittting in a SS office.

Dam I didn't know you could change the SS that way!! I wasted an hour and half or so. :-( Oh well.

You go to the social security office. I went right when it opened and waited about five minutes.

I just did this the other day. I had to go to the Orlando office because they closed the Kissimmee office recently. The one in Orlando is on Gatlin, right off of Semoran. I went in the middle of the day and it took me about an hour and a half.

Me, too..wish I knew!  I am still changing my name on sooo many things!

Just so you know they recently began requiring all Central Floridians to go in person to the office off of Gatlin to change there name or get a replacement card. I was there about 3 weeks ago changing my name and I was there for 2 hours and it was scary!!! Try to take DH with you if possible. The cops had to be called twice while I was there becuase of people fighting outside the building.
