2012 Reading Challenge
I am definitely not a Pens fan. After last year's Stanley Cup Finals I got sick of hearing about how great Sid the Kid and the Penguins were. Those announcers were so biased. I hate when the Wings play on Versus or NBC. Those guys hate us.

I love a 7 game series, game 7 is always so exciting....except last night. It was so sad to see the Caps lose. I am pulling for the Ducks and Carolina tonight.
I can understand as an opposing fan why you would not like Crosby BUT you must admit~ his is such a better representative than Ovi??! Crosky conducts himself with class. Ovi on the other hand - not so sure?? Taking runs at players?? Showboating?? Ovi is what's wrong about hockey. Crosby is what's right!

I'd also like to point out that while "Ovi" carries the caps, The Pens have other options with goal scoring. Yeah, Sid showed up and helped a TON but without the other guys, we couldn't have won.
Great series, and great for Hockey fans in general.

How can I be jealous when we won the Cup??? (That is my quote afterall, not jjenkins). And I don't know about this year, since our game 7 is tonight. Even IF (and that is a big if) we lose, I still wouldn't be jealous of your Pens.

wow- i don't think that could be more off. ovechkin is a wicked good player who plays consistently and with a lot of heart. he never whines about the games, he mans up and accepts responsibility for losses. yes he does get excited when he scores, but in fairness he also gets excited when his teammates score. he just genuinely loves the game is grateful to be playing. he's a tough competitor but i certaintly don't think you could say he's playing overly aggressive against other teams. and god knows he doesn't complain as much as crosby.

It's all good...I still have lots of hockey to watch since I'm a season ticket holder for the Caps AHL affiliate that just knocked out the Baby Pens.

I personally like this board because we can have fun with each other regardless of who cheers for what team. I'm not a fan of anyone saying someone else is jealous because their team lost.
Both Sid the Kid and the Great Eight are top tier players. I imagine both of them will have see their names engraved on the Stanley Cup at some point.
Unless it is Olchech. He is biased AGAINST the Penguins. Just because they fired him does not mean he should be bitter. ?
ITA...I think alot of the "superstar" rivalry has been made worse by all the media constantly pitting them against each other. In the end they have both made a huge impact to their organizations.

I could not agree more. I kind of hope the Penguins Carolina series is short because i am going to be so tired of hearing then compare the Stahl Brothers. I hope that their "baby" brother goes to a western conference team because really it is enough that the 3 oldest play each other frequently.?
