so who broke the ash ring??

has anyone looked up who lies in the shadow of the statue yet?  I did -  the answer is "the one who will save/protect us all" so does that mean Jacob because it looks like he lives in the shadow of the statue not in the cabin.  It looks like his counterpart lived there maybe?

Do you think Man #2 (Jacob's counterpart) was also impersonating Christian Shephard, the same way he impersonated Locke? The only hitch with that theory is that there was a time they were in the same room earlier this season, but maybe he can inhabit two bodies at once? Otherwise that makes perfect sense.

I am thinking Jacob knew he had to die since he antagonized Ben...

So if Man #2 is the bad guy, he is the one that told Alpert to tell Lock that he had to die, Eloise is the one that said they had to bring Locke's body back.... so is Eloise on the same side as Man #2?

All confusing stuff.

Um, YAY to Rose and Bernard and Vincent finally showing back up. I was getting pissed that everyone seemed to have forgotten them. I love that they "retired". I just love them!

Did Jughead work??? Doubtful, or we wouldn't have Season 6 I guess. My guess is that it somehow transports all our Losties (including Juliette I hope) safe and sound back to 2008.

I can't believe we have to wait 8 months for the next season!

I'm probably way off but this is how I took it:

Yes I think Jacob's "friend" was Christian and Alex (I can't remember when Christian and fake Locke were in the same room, Christian had already left Sun in the house when Locke showed up).  Christian had to talk Jack into bringing Locke's body back to the island so he could take Locke's body for the loophole to have Ben kill Jacob.  What he did not see happening was Jack blowing up the island.  I think by blowing up the island, he saved Jacob's life.  If the bomb blew, the plane never crashed, Locke and Christian were never on the island, no body snatching, Ben died as a kid so he could not grow up to kill Jacob.  I don't know how Claire fits in to all of this though.  Maybe Jacob can take over people's bodies too and Jacob was Charlie and Claire appearing to Hugo and Kate in the present time??

Last season will be what the Losties life was like if the plane didn't crash. They will also have to explain the "good guys" and Jacob.  I'm thinking it will be 2 different stories and lots of flashes.

If the bomb did go off and kill everyone, Dan will never be born, Ben was killed as a kid, Charles Whitmore died so no Penny (too sad to think about that).  Maybe the bomb didn't kill everyone.

I think I have officially stopped trying to figure it all out and just enjoying watching it all unfold.

I do not think that next season will show the plane never crashing. What would be the storyline there? That bomb going off will not have the effect Jack, et. al. think it will have. Or if it does keep the plane from crashing, something will be different--the Losties will have memories of what happened on the island, some will get stuck at a different time/place, something.

Loved seeing Rose and Bernard. Very glad they did not kill them off or just drop them from the story althogether.

I can't wait for next season!
