I am the one that orders supplies. From stuffing the kitchen with the essentials to the necessary things to do our job. I don't mind doing it b/c we are a small firm and I already have my list which I basically reorder from.
So yesterday I asked the associate if she needed anything from the kitchen b/c I'll be placing an order. She asked me to order for her brown sugar and disposable coffee cups. I advised her I cannot do that b/c our boss will not be willing to pay for something she will be the only one using. But to buy her own stash and keep it at her desk. We serve our clients in mugs w/the company logo, and they have the choice between splenda and regular sugar.
So she gets upset. And today I just causually mention everything got here except the creamer. You ordered that for the other secretary. And I replied to her...I ordered it b/c some of our CLIENTS like coffee w/creamer and just coincidentally she uses it too.
WTF! Who the heck does she think she is to answer me like that. Seriously...she needs to get over it b/c my boss will not spend a freakin $1 on something she is the only one using. When they are things for the clients he doesn't care...and I'm definetly not going to get in trouble for spending his $$.
Re: WORK VENT
Chica. Am sorry that she is being such a pain. But some of them dont understand. One of my co-workers approves the orders and people tell her all sorts of stuff. but when that credit card bill comes he wants to know why was that ordered and this and that. So i know exactly what you are talking about. Just know you did the right thing and they pay you at the end of the week not her. So breathe in and out. And good luck.
Tell her Splenda is healthier and disposable coffee cups are not eco-friendly...to get with the program!
I think you handled the situation perfectly. Too bad she doesn't realize that creamer is a very common supply companies order, because like you said, when guests are in the office you have to be prepared. It is much less likely that someone will want brown sugar... and who knows about the disposable coffee cups. What's wrong with the mugs!?
and snap my fingers and shake my head side to side!!!
she doesn't like washing the mug she uses b/c it grosses her out...i think its pure laziness. i wash my mug just find and dandy.
omg - that is just lazy! Like Ceventa said: disposable coffe cups = NOT eco-friendly!
