I survived my inlaws

Hey all,

I thought I'd give you a quick update on the success of E's parents visit. After all my worry (and rambling on this board -sorry!), the visit went very well. They were here for 6 days and it was the most time I've spent alone with either of them. Our visits have traditionally been a little difficult, b/c they're conservative and their religion doesn't approve of SSMs. My MIL has had a very difficult time dealing with E's orientation, and therefore, our relationship. So the best moment for me was at the graduation party. Our various friends were giving super-sweet toasts to E for all of her hard work and accomplishments.  E's mom stood up and surprised both of us with a beautiful speech about how E couldn't have done it without me, and how whenever she talked to E she was amazed how happy she sounded, and she knew it was b/c of me. She said lots of other lovely things I can't even remember.  Anyway, I was completely blown away. She was tearing up and so was I. It was a really wonderful moment.
