Question about SS card after name change?
Hi ladies,
My name is Kristina and I've lived in Manhattan for 9 years but I'm most active on the Norcal Nestie page b/c we are moving to Sacramento in a few weeks.
We were married last week in NY and I am changing my name. Because of my new job in California I need my new ss card sooner rather than later. We sent in the signed marriage license last Monday but I made copies of it before we sent it in.
My question is - has anyone tried to get their new ss card with just a copy of the signed license?
Some additional questions I have are:
-how long did it take them to mail back your official marriage certificate?
-how long did it take to get your new SS card after you applied for it?
-any other suggestions about how to expedite this process?
