Coco Beach?

Coco Beach is a little more east, but I think this is close enough to central florida to get some tips.

We are thinking of going to both during our road trip.  I wanted to get some info. on hotels you stayed at as well as what to do that you really enjoyed.  THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 also restaurants.

oh one more thing.... any nice parks with playgrounds to take my one year old on?

Re: Coco Beach?

  • There's not a heck of a lot in Cocoa Beach. If you want some restaurants the "locals" like there are a couple in Port Canaveral which is just a short drive up A1A. The restaurants I can think of off the top of my head are fishlips, smokehouse, grills. Seafood is big here.

I'm not too familiar with hotels, but I'm sure there is a decent selection.

    Oh Crumbs

  • When my relatives come down to visit they always stay at the Comfort Inn at Cocoa Beach. It's nothing fancy, but it does it's purpose; it's in walking distance to both the beach and the world famous Ron Jon's surf shop. And of course the price isn't bad either (depending on when you are going you might be able to get an ocean view room at a lower price).  http://www.comfortinn.com/hotel-cocoa_beach-florida-FL521?sid=S8Gng.ZlUpSg3qB.5

We love to eat at Florida's Seafood... it's down the road from Ron Jon's (right before one of the causeways, not sure the names of the roads, but someone at the hotel can help you). Florida's Seafood has the best rock shrimp (they are like mini lobsters)! Delish and awesome blueberry fritters! The food on the pier isn't all that bad either; they make a mean crab cake sandwich! Of course you have the usual fast food options close by.

I would also take a look on trip advisor's site for other food and hotel recommendations.

    Good luck & have fun!

  • We stayed at the Doubletree Cocoa Beach for our wedding night and it was great (we had an awesome ocean view room). As far as restaurants, we like both of the restaurants we've tried out on Cocoa Beach Pier ....Marlins and Atlantic Ocean Grill.

I can't say that there are a ton of things to do in the area - but sometimes it's nice to just have a relaxing day on the beach. Smile

Florida Seafood is on 520 not far from AIA.  (It's on the south side of the road).  We've been there many many times and love it too!  Be prepared to wait at least an hour for a table unless you go between lunch and dinner rushes.

I've never seen the blueberry fritters on the menu.... we have eaten our weight in their corn fritters, though!  Smile

  • they aren't on the menu.... they are the fritters you get at the table... I could have sworn they were blueberry... either way--they are awesome! Good job for speaking about the lines... I totally forgot to mention that. Wink
