Daytona Beach
I'm taking my Mom to the beach this weekend for her birthday and I wanted to know what would be a good spot?
I haven't been since I was 10 so I don't know of a good Public spot. She'll be in a motorized wheel chair so the closer to the beach the better. TIA!

We went to New Smyrna Beach last weekend for the first time and loved it. You can park on the sand, which is so compact people were bike riding along the shore. There is also a really nice area with shops and resturants that lead up to the beach (is it Flagler Street? I'll have to ask DH if no one here knows). Some of the resturants overlook the beach, which is nice too! We really liked Breakers, DH said he had the best burger ever there.
I second New Smyrna over Daytona. When I first moved down here I was told Daytona is for the tourist New Smyrna is for the residents.

I third NSB! I love it there... if you don't feel comfortable parking on the beach there is always adequate parking along the road or in public parking lots. I love it there!
