furniture store rec's in Montgomery

ok DH and I are going to go look at furniture stores and are considering going to Montgomery (which I don't know as well as I used to) or Columbus, GA (which obviously I know a little better) to look for a TV stand/console and possibly a new coffee table or piece to use for a coffee table.  I know there's prob more in the 'Ham, but we are just going to go for the day this weekend, grab dinner, etc.

So anyone have any suggestions of where to go?!!?!?

TIA!!!

Re: furniture store rec's in Montgomery

  • There is a Haverty's and Lazy Boy on Atlanta Highway.  I love Haverty's.  I seriously could spend all day in there.  There is a Bishop Parker on the Eastern Boulevard (although I am not sure if they had flood damage, but if not then they have some good stuff).  There is also a place in Eastchase that I can't remember the name of for the life of me.  It's not a chain but DH and I bought a table from there and get compliments all the time.  There are also a few antique stores and interior design stores but they are a little bit more pricey.  Lee Ann's interiors on Vaughn has goreous stuff but they are pretty pricey.  If I think of anything else I will let you know!

  • Thanks Jaime!!!!

I'll have to look up the addresses and see how to get to each place.  I want to look at something before I buy, furniture I have a hard time with just buying online w/o seeing it first.

  • Jaime, we are definitely going to go for the day on Sat, so if you think of anywhere else, and also a great place to eat, would love your input!!!!
  • Sorry I just now saw your reply.  My two favorite places are El Rey and Tom and Tino's.  One is tex-mex and the other is a pizza joint.  They are both in Old Cloverdale by Huntington which is on the other side of town from the furniture store places I told you about.  There is a Carrabas on the boulevard which is always a favorite.  If ya'll wanted something a little nicer there is a new place called Number Sixteen on Taylor that is like a tapas restaraunt.  It is a more expensive but the food is yummy and the drinks are wonderful.    Then of course there is a ton of stuff at Eastchase.  Good luck with finding something.  Oh, and be careful driving the weather is suppossed to be bad.
