Printer recommendation?

My stupid Epson CX 6600 printer just pooped out again and is refusing to print, even though it has brand new ink cartridges. It's done this before, but I've tried everything that worked before and nothing's fixing it now...so I think it's time to look for a new one. Reviews online seem to suggest that a lot of this model start going bad after a few years. :thumbdown

I would prefer to stay away from Epson this time. I'm also hoping for another printer/scanner/copier combo, and I have a Mac, if that matters.

Anyone have a reliable printer that they love?

Re: Printer recommendation?

  • I just bought a new printer. It's a Canon MP470. It bought it from Target, for only $99 bucks. It is a printer/copier/scanner. The ink isn't too expensive either ($20-black/$25-color... I think). It had the highest resolution for scanning (between the printers at Target). It also prints pictures, 4x6's. BUT, I guess it does 8x10, because they included a few sample sheets in the box. :) I haven't printed pictures yet. I did read good things about it on cnet.com. :)
  • Thanks. I've heard good things about Canons, and my brother said that Target often has Canon (or generic equivalent, maybe) ink on sale. I've looked at cnet.com for other stuff but had forgotten about it this time; I will
    check it out!

  • I'm an HP printer fan - you generally can't go wrong with one of theirs. I have three of them - one on my desk at work, and two at home. I've had one of them for about 10 years - and it still works like a charm.
  • Are you by chance a Costco member?  I was just there and they had some good options, all at really good prices.  I'm in the market for one too and I have a mac so let me know which one you end up with.
