Idaho Check In *~04/2708~*

While I am thinking of this, we haven't had a check-in in awhile.  Do we have anybody out there?  Since it's been awhile, introduce yourself!  What kind of job do you have, general area of ID you reside in, pets/no pets, kids/no kids, how long you've been married, etc.  Whatever you wish!

Besides that, let's have a question of the week:

What is your favorite summer activity?  I'm talking recreational activity, outdoor festival, sporting event, whatever.

I'll go first.  My name is Rachel.  I work as a Medical Technologist at one of our local hospitals.  I have a fabulous child of the canine variety.  His name is Steve.  (Long story behind that name!).  My DH and I do not have kids, but are revisiting the subject in May.  We've been married for 3 years this June.  I am originally from WI, and miss my family terribly!  I HATE that gas prices keep skyrocketing, because it makes it VERY expensive to go back to visit!

My favorite summer activity....hard to narrow it down!  I love running on the greenbelt (I'm training for my first marathon.....the Famous Potato in May!), as well as floating the river.  Each year, my DH and I try to make it up to Brundage to go mountain biking (yay lift serve!)  Oh, and we always go to the Tour de Fat....it is usually toward the end of the summer at Ann Morrison park.  At least once a month, my DH plays in a softball tournament, and I love to cheer him on and keep book.  That's just a little slice of my life.

Your turn!  Let's get some energy into this board!

Re: Idaho Check In *~04/2708~*

  • Thanks for doing this!  Hopefully it will regenerate some interest!!

My name is Brooke.  I work as a special education teacher for kids with emotional challenges.  I've worked in the special ed field in the community as well in the last couple of years.  We have a crazy dog named Shade and a cat named Tabby.  Our first child is due in October (right after our two year anniversary).

My favorite summer activity (this summer) is going to be sitting around doing little.  I have worked myself senseless for the last two years, and I need a break!!  I really enjoy working in my yard, and my husband and I got into rafting bigger water last year (but we won't be doing that this year).  I also like being able to take my dog out and walk him early in the morning.  I love Idaho summer mornings.

  • Hi, my name is Karen. I work at J C Penney?s and my husband and I are full time students working towards education degrees.  We have been married a year in June.
My favorite summer activities are backpacking, picnics and anything else outside.

  • I'm Samantha I work as a cashier at The Home Depot. I'm getting married next month but come over to this local board because there's no one on the knot one.

In the summer we try to go up to our cabin as much as possible and take the dogs to the dog park here in Boise.

We hope to have kids in the next year or two.

  • Hey guys! Wow, I haven't been here in FOREVER!

My name is Jayme. I work as a Marketing & Advertising Coordinator for a large law firm in downtown Boise. I also have a graphic design/portrait photography business (went to BSU for graphic design) on the side. I've been married for almost 4 years (June), we have a daughter that turns 2 in May and a yellow lab. My H was born and raised here but I'm a transplant from Michigan.

My favorite summer activity would have to be camping or sitting outside on a patio with good friends, good food and margaritas! :)

  • Hello all!

It is good to see some life in this board.  It is nice to meet everyone.  Oboe and 6/19 and sjk, welcome!  Hopefully we can all keep the board alive, and make new friends in the process.  BTW, sjk, what kind of dogs do you have?  Do you happen to go to the Morris Hill dog park?  Because when I saw the pictures of your dogs, I totally recognized them.  I think I have seen them at the dog park recently.  But I could be way wrong. We're (my dog and I) are almost always at the dog park on Friday...like after work time (5ish).  If I see your dogs, I will have to say hi.  I'll try to post a picture of my dog (English Springer Spaniel/Standard Poodle mix).  He is a wavy-haired black dog named Steve.  Brooke and Shade have met him.  Do you still go to the dog park Brooke?  I know that is a little out of the way for you!

It is nice to meet you all!

  • I haven't been since that one day.  But I really should take him... it's so good for him.  I've been so exhausted lately so it's hard to get out.  This summer I will probably take him a couple of times in the early morning.
