Recommend a nice romantic place to stay overnight

Dh and I decided for our anniversary coming up to at least go somewhere for one night. I want to find a place as close to home as possible.  I"m in North Aurora so any where close by or no more than a hour or hour and a half drive please.    Been to Galena which is 3 hours but can't do it this time. This is a last minute thing for this weekend or the next the latest.

Thanks we so need to get away and just want to find a place we can relax, it be romantic and enjoy.  :)

  • Pheasant Run in St Charles?
  • Curious why you want to stay as close to home as possible... the only thing I can suggest is the Sybaris LOL!

  • Sybaris is number one of course and then I suggest Eagle Ridge in Itasca.  We got the Romance Package last year and couple's massage was included.  I looked it up just now and they don't include the massage anymore.  Here's the link. Have fun! Big Smilehttp://www.eagleridgeresortonline.com/Rates/Packages/displaypackage/romance2package.asp

I would love to go away for real but I really can't.  My parents are driving in to babysit ( we really have no one to babysit for us).  Mom just had an angiogram and is not supposed to lift more than 10 lbs and is not supposed to be outdoing herself.  We would postpone our getaway but she wouldn't hear of it and said we better go because she wont be babysitting anytime soon.  I think she just said that because she knows we don't go anywhere.

We want to stay as close to home , just in case my ds gives them a hard time, he's been teething on and off for some time and is in the terrible two stage.  My dad is retired, older and not too much patience and well mom I dont want her to have to struggle with him.  So just in caseeeeeeeee  dont want to be too far.      It sucks I know but i'll take whatever time alone I can get, its long overdue,

  • How 'bout just an evening in the city -- a nice hotel room, dinner, maybe book some massages?  We are in the same boat and I just booked a room downtown for our anniversary via Hotwire.com.  I got the Intercontinental on Michigan Ave. for just $107/night.

If you find a good deal on Hotwire, you can usually deciper what hotel it is by visiting www.betterbidding.com

I'm sure you could find some fun things to do and just walking around and spending time alone can be romantic : )
