How much do you pay for cable/internet/cell phone?

Hi ladies,

My Dh looks after our finances and I nearly died when i found out that we are paying close to $200 a month for all of these? We have AT&T and live in Lake County. We get cable, high speed internet, 1 house phone and 2 cell phones. Apparently we are on the cheapest home phone plan since we dont use it at all and I have 900 minutes plus roll over. Cable wise we have the usual channels plus the Discovery channel, TLC etc but not Showtime or HBO...

Can you how much you are playing monthly, what you get and with which company?

Surely there are cheaper plans out there?

Thanks!

Re: How much do you pay for cable/internet/cell phone?

  • That doesn't sound TOO bad depending on how much you use your cell phones.  We pay $100 to Comcast for high speed internet and the same cable package you have. When we did have AT&T home phone service, the cheapest package was $17 a month, but we cancelled it because it was such a waste.

  • Thanks for responding :) I guess I didnt realise how much it all cost! before we were married I knw exactly how much i was paying for everything and I guess it was baed on me living in a studio and without the extras which come with a husband, house and baby! LOL!
  • That sounds about right. ?We have RCN and just called to get on a new promotion they were offering (which they agreed to, cutting our plan by $35 a month!) and are right around $120 or so for the same cable options you have, high-speed internet, and nationwide home phone service. ?DH works from home and is on conference calls 75% of the time so having the home phone is a necessity, but otherwise we would cut that in a heartbeat to save the money!
