Charleston, WV over July 4th weekend?
DH and I are heading to Charleston, WV over July 4th weekend for a soccer tournament (the kids he coaches made it to regionals). We're coming from Philadelphia, driving, and I'm thinking of extending our trip. What is there to do in the area? We're going to stop in Morgantown on our way there as an overnight point. Thanks!
SAIF/PAIF absolutely ALWAYS welcome to respond!
Re: Charleston, WV over July 4th weekend?
This board is kinda dead...but my first advice is that if you are coming to morgantown to spend the night..you might just keep on coming down to Charleston. Its about 3 more hours but a really easy drive to do. Just a thought...
City of Charleston usually has fireworks on July 4th on the riverbank, the town center mall is worth going to....WV is more of a rafting/skiing/outdoorsy tourist attraction. In the city..there is just usual shopping, dining etc.
HTH!!
I work in Charleston and over the 4th weekend there are always things going on. I will put a link the the local charleston newspaper so you can browse through what might be going on that weekend.

Thank you so much, I'll be saving that link to my bookmarks.
Any restaurant suggestions - things that are good for say, 16 kids (they are 13 & 14-years old), plus 5-6 adults?
