Did you go shopping? Where did you go? Did you get anything?

Re: ~Paula~

  • I did go shopping!  LOL  Then the checkout cashier actually pointed out the coupon was only good for catalog or JCP.com orders. Confused  Fair enough - I got tops I liked, so it balanced out anyway. LOL

I'm trying to find some of the tops I got:

This top in 2 different colors:

This top in the little color:

  • I can't find it, but I thought I found two other tops (maybe on clearance, which would be why I can't find them).  Similar "blouse" styling but different patterns:

One of them is pretty crazy patterned, but have kimono sleeves with black satin banding around the arms.

I also got sunglasses, which I was in dire need of.  I found the same exact pair I have (which I loved), as well as a backup pair for 50% off.

    ?

I have that top! ?I just got it last week when I went birthday shopping for myself!?

  • Which color, Mandy?  Now that I see the red & purple patterned one, I'm kind of kicking myself for just grabbing the neutral one. LOL (I'll probably wear the neutral one more, of course.)
  • I love them!!!!! I went shopping yesterday and got a bunch of tops too.  I've found a couple of non-maternity brands that are flattering and it works out well because I will need some things after they are born in the summer.

  • How are you doing, Kristi?  You've only got like 10 weeks to go!!  Are things any better with Blair or should we continue plotting our crotch-punch schemes?
  • I'm doing ok.  It's getting a little harder physically.  I saw the OB on Monday and she said I am measuring like someone who is 37 or 38 weeks.  LOL! I need to post a new pic.  I'm just so bad with that stuff.

I also had some concerns about having a c-section that I wanted to talk through with her.  I felt better afterwards and she said that if things are going well with me then I can try naturally.  Which made me very happy knowing I have that option.

And one of my biggest concerns is that when Blair is here (which come the end of June he must stop his traveling until they are born) he works in Manhattan which is at least an hour and a half from our house during the week (it's only 35 miles but when you factor in public transportation, etc.).  If we're talking rush hour, it could be over 2 hours.  My parents would never be able to make it up here and if Blair can't get there, I don't want to have them by myself.   So she said that as long as myself and the babies are not in distress then we can hold off.

He's being better.  I just hope he realizes it's more than just one night or a couple of arguments and his whole train of thought and way of thinking is what is hurting me the most.  I can handle arguments.  They come and go.  But when I know that you aren't excited for the birth of our children, that hurts.  We celebrated our anniversary over the weekend and it ended in an argument.  I think he felt bad because it turned out so crappy.  So he was supposed to leave Monday morning for a trip but postponed until this morning.  So he brought me roses last night and a card.  He wrote in there that even though he doesn't always show it and is usually pretty bad about it he loves me very much and couldn't imagine being with someone else.  It made me happy that he stayed home and we spent the night together.  He made an effort to get home at a decent time.  Like I said, I just hope he realizes it is about more than the argument.

  • I think its a guy thing: "We fought, so it's just that one issue."  I've had to regularly point out to Greg if we fight that this one little argument is actually about something bigger like he's focused on work 24/7 so he's cranky with the family, or he speaks before he thinks, etc.  It's a long road sometimes, but I hope Blair continues to improve.  Doesn't mean I want to crack him upside the head with a shovel any less... LOL  He's got a long road to proving he's worthy of you and the girls!!

Wow - 37-38 weeks!!  Does the Dr expect you to go the full 40 weeks, then?  Or is she more expecting you to deliver earlier?

  • Greg speaks before he thinks too? Blair does that.  And usually with no filter.  Sometimes I want to crawl in a hole.  lol

With twins, they will not let me go past 38 weeks.  The percent of women who make it to 38 weeks is small compared to the percent who deliver early.  I have in my mind that I am going to make it to the 38 weeks.  Sometimes I get a little scared thinking that I can go at any time.  There is a woman on the multiples board that just delivered at 27 weeks a month ago.  But, my friend who is 34 weeks with twins is still hanging in there.  So I know if she can do it I can do it.  Working from home some days definitely helps.  And Louie is a great little nurse.  I get horrible leg cramps at night.  And he comes over and licks my legs.  lol.  At the time just want him to not do it, but he's cute.  And knows there is something wrong and trying to help.  :)

  • Paula: mine is not red and purple. ?It's...hm. ?It's got a lot of orange. ?If I am remembering correctly. ?I do love the red and purple though. ?Now I want it!

Kristi: I hope that you are able to make it to 38 weeks. ?That would be great! ?Did you two decide on their names??

Greg used to be pretty bad about making comments - usually joking - particularly of a sexual nature.  Like joking about BJs or something, and it would bother me.  Many an unhappy discussion took place, but after nearly 6 years together, he's greatly improved! LOL  Of course, only AFTER I'd wind up crying a lot.  I've found the only way he's going to get that what hurts is to tell him, and explain WHY.  Otherwise, he'll have no clue and it just sits and festers or I allow the hurt he caused to make me truly sad.

Like I said, thankfully he's gotten better.  He still does it with others sometimes, but less so with me.  I'm also probably the only one who calls him out on it and makes him discuss the emotional ramifications!

As long as you're measuring well (which means the girls are a good size, right?), I think I'd just try and make it as long as you can!  That's so cute of Louie, but I think I'd go crazy too! LOL  Xena has a toe fetish and it drives us NUTS.

  • Louie has a toe fetish after my nails get painted.  It's weird.  And he always tries to lick my lip gloss or chapstick off my lips.....odd.  But I love him!
