Good morning all. What's new? Yesterday we went up to Jenks Lake with the dogs, then we voted, then last night H and I went out to dinner with H's friend. I had prime rib...so good! I can't believe how much I ate. Mary had a fussy night but still slept through it. God, I love that kid.
Today I work and then hopefully a trip to the park tonight.
Re: So, what's new?
Last night was rough. Major tantrum from Isabel. Although it's hard to be strict with her, I asked her why she was in a bad mood and she said "I'm just having bad day" So hard not to laugh.
Today has been pretty good. She actually went potty in the big girl toilet twice already.?
?
Shannon-hope you feel better soon.
Kristy-Is Mary teething yet? ?
L was pretty awful last night, he got up 4x! I fed him twice and the other 2 times we just comforted him a little and he got back to sleep. Ugh.
I have to go to the mall after work to pick up my mother's day present, it was being sized. Nothing other than that. We found out yesterday that we get a free weekend away next week. A vendor for A's company is doing a thing at this resort near Palomar. It's kinda in the middle of nowhere, but should be fun.
Yup. Definitely.
Not much new going on here...construction is still going on. They're now painting. Still have baseboards, carpet, tile, plumbing and electrical to do...God...it's NEVERENDING!
Mom and Dad left yesterday, with Riley and Murphy (our 2 dogs). With all of the construction people here and the work being done, we figured it would be better if they weren't here. Plus, there isn't much for my parents to help out with while the work is going on. They'll be back in a couple of weeks to return the dogs and help us put things back to normal...when all of the work is done.
Busy day today...6 conference calls then a late night with Jr League. I've been up since 4am so I'm hoping I don't crash in the middle of my meeting!
Hope everyone has a great day!
Kat - Yay for Isabel!

Lukas cut his first tooth last night. And I think a second tooth is pushing up next to it. I seriously felt nothing yesterday morning and then there it was.?
Last night we watched the laker game at a friend's house. When we got home, I noticed E was super hot. I took his temp (he hates that, he actually threw up while I was taking it because he was hypervenhilating (sp?) ). It was at 102.7 : ( I sent him to bed with some Tylenol. We'll see how he's doing today, tomorrow he turns TWO!
I just spoke with Jason. Eric is still asleep. He felt him and he said he is super hot. I told him to wake him, give him Tylenol and something cold to drink, and a lukewarm bath. Poor baby.
I'm sure you hear this a lot and I feel like I say it a lot. But I seriously can not believe E is turning 2 tomorrow. It seems like last month (maybe the month before) that he turned 1.
Did bfing not work? I'm sorry!
I think the reason Mary had a bad night was because she was gassy too. She hasn't gone in a couple days again. Hopefully she will go today.
Seriously. I feel like I was just planning his first birthday at the park... : /
It's really bittersweet, I cannot believe my baby is officially 2 tomorrow. Now I can't tell people "He's 18 months, 22 months" or whatever. Now he is simple "two".
Depending on how he's feeling, I'll bring him to the gtg. Usually it's a 24 hour (or less) thing with him, so I think he'll be fine : )
Yup. We're going "easy" this year and doing a chuck e cheese party. Less planning, but it's so pricey (well, with my big family attending...). He loves it there though!
there really must be something in the water. J was gassy too. He finally pooped this morning after 2 days.
And all the teething babies, man that GTG is going to have a whole lot of drool.
Val-2 yrs YEY!!!. We are going low key with Isabel's bday as well. Just going to Sea World with my folks and bro and sis.
Is it sad that I have already started to plan J's 1st bday??
well, low key, but it's still around 50 people on the guest list. ( I have a HUGE family).
And yes, that's crazy that you're planning his birthday, lol!
wow that isn't very low key at all
And I'm just planning it so early since I am such a huge procrastinator and his bday comes right after the holidays, plus this way I take advantage of all the clearance sales?
I have sort of started planning Mary's party too. We're going to use the leftover plates and napkins from my baby shower.
So something at home, the weekend before Christmas with a cupcake theme.
I've had a really bad time with it. Her mouths seems too small and she doesn't latch on right. Needless to say, my nipples are severely damaged, but on their way to healing. I want to put her back on as soon as possible.
C only woke up once (3am) after going to bed at 8:30. As you can see it is an IE thing & everyone should move to AZ!
Irma: *hugs* b/f sucks (literally). Good luck.
lol. And pumpin' ain't easy.
I "suffered" through 3 months of pumping (she never latched) and it got to the point where I needed to make myself happy and healthy, so I stopped. I felt guilty as heck but a happy mommy = a happy baby. She did just fine on formula (we used Good Start).
I think the nipple shield is for flat or inverted nipples...if I remember correctly.
it's not! i finally had to rent out a hospital pump. I went from pumping for 1hr & get 3 oz to pumping for 30 mins (or less) & getting at least 6 oz! one time I got 13!
Irma-so sorry. have you seen a lactation consultant yet? They helped me so much with both kids.
Brandy-so glad the hospital pumped worked out so well
Oh.
They say nipple shields are also supposed to help the baby latch on. They showed me how to use it at the hospital, but it made it more painful, honestly.
Kat, I have been to the Healthy Beginnings center twice. They are very helpful, but when I get home, it's a whole different story!
I'm not giving up, though.
Gotcha. With Isabel it took a whole 2 hours with lc before we got it.?
HOLY COW! 13oz in less than 30 minutes! You're my hero. Send some of that milk my way!
