dh has gotten 3 job offers since march.  we weren't seriously considering any of them because he has a great job up here...until his brother took a job with the same company that wanted dh.  dh originally said no, but they were persistent and said they were willing to do/pay anything to get E down there. it is a great opportunity for him because he will be developing and heading the engineering department (they currently  outsource their engineering) as the Professional Engineer. it is quite the step up and while i am happy for him, i am unsure of the distance.  anyway, to make a long story short (too late probably) we are moving to Chesapeake, VA (right near Virginia Beach).  E is going down middle of June and i will be staying here until our house sells.  i have very mixed feelings about the move and i have been going through a lot of emotions, lots of ups and downs...i just don't know what to think.  anyway, i hope you ladies still let me be a Central PA/May 2006 (LOL!) nestie.  i love this group we have here and i would still very much like to be a part of it. thanks for listening to my rambling girls.

I am sitting in a hotel room in Chesapeake right now!  It is a nice area, there is lots of shopping and the beach is close (so is my Superfund site too).  I will be down here on and off probably for the rest of the summer.

Aww Allie . . . I wish you guys all the best with the move!  So you'll be close to VA Beach?   Good to know when we're up for a road trip and need someone to show us around!

Aw, Allie, although it's natural, I'm sorry that you have mixed feelings about it.  I hope the planning goes well.  Congrats to your DH -- sounds like a great position & good luck with selling your home.  Keep us updated!

You know I kind of wondered because I was catching up on D&R posts last night and saw yours about house selling tips.  I was hoping that you were just upgrading!!

Aww Allie, I will miss you!!!  I think that's awesome that your DH is so wanted...can he get my DH a job???  LOL  Seriously, send those job vibes our way   I wish you the best of luck selling your home here and then with your eventual permanent move to VA.  It's not too terribly far away and how neat to be so close to the beach - VA Beach is one of my favorite vacation spots so I'll definitely be wanting to gtg when we're in the area!  Please let me know if you need help with anything - packing, etc.  And please be sure we get together for a coffee date before you leave for good.

Oh wow...I bet you are on an emotional rollercoaster with all this!!  I would have the same mixed emotions about moving a distance like that but I'm sure you will adjust very well and will be very happy with everything.  Living close to the beach sounds very nice too!!  I wish you the best of luck with selling the house and definitely keep us posted.  You are always welcome on this board too.  : )

Well congrats to your DH on his new position! I've heard that area is a really nice place to live. I have never moved out of this area and I'm always a little envious of people who move away, not because I hate it here, but because I've never had the guts to do it myself.  I'm sure you're very emotional, but moving some place completely different is really brave!
