Help!

I've never posted on this board before, but I was laid off yesterday from my work from home position.  I've lived in SD (Carlsbad) for less than a year and I was wondering if anyone could recommend  anywhere that may be hiring.  My husband is a law student so my income was the only one.  I have a BS in Business and have worked in insurance for the past 3 years.  I know this is a longshot, but any help is appreciated!

 Thanks!!

Re: Help!

  • So sorry to hear that. ?I haven't heard of anyone who is hiring. ?I would suggest checking Craigslist daily. ?GL!

  • I've got nothing either. I have been looking since January. Hopefully, you have a savings built up and can apply for unemployment.
  • Not sure if you're willing..

but i know the company i work for somtimes uses a Temp Agency called Pridestaff. We normally do temp to hire, which works out pretty well. I know that the temp agency does temp-to hire for a couple other businesses too, maybe something in your industry.

    Hope this helps.

  • You might want to check out the Wild Animal Park and the San Diego Zoo.  They always hire seasonal help for the summer.  It might not be the highest paying job BUT its money and it can get your foot in the door.

Good luck with your search.  My mom got laid off in December and she still hasnt even gotten an interview for any job.

  • I work for an insurance carrier (Property & Casualty) downtown.  We're not currently hiring, but try San Diego Insurance Staffing  http://jobs.sdistaffing.com  They can probably at least set you up with a temp job for now.
