Hi ladies!!! We have been dying for an English Bulldog and we have finually saved enough money to buy our baby
We have already registered to adopt one about a year ago and nothing. so now we are looking for a breeder. we really do not want to go to a pet shop because I have heard terrible stories of those places.
we live in the Miami area but do not mind to drive.

Re: Looking 4 Eng Bull dog/breeder
sorry, no help here. i personally would never recommend any breeder at all, because i'm completely against breeding for money. keep trying to adopt!
www.petfinder.com
http://www.akc.org/breederinfo/breeder_search.cfm
If you don't mind not having a puppy, I'd go through a rescue group. Also, you can try www.thebca.org.
Good for you for considering adoption first and for trying to steer clear of puppy stores/puppy mills. I agree with the other girls that adoption should still be your first option and I hope you are able to find a dog through there. Definitely keep checking petfinder.com, and you can also contact the Florida English Bulldog Rescue and see if they have any sort of waitlist option for puppies (even though they encourage you to consider adopting a older dog: http://www.floridaenglishbulldogrescue.com/The_Reason.html.
If you are not able to find the pup of your dreams through adoption, definitely try to find a reputable breeder. Don't buy a puppy online! Even the so-called "breeders" that advertise online are usually puppy mills or backyard breeders, which makes it no better than buying from a pet store. Check out the Bulldog Club of America's website...if you scroll down to Florida, you'll see that they have 5 breeders listed: in Sarasota, Land o'Lakes, St. Petersburg, Lakeland, and Davie. I would start by contacting these people and see if they have any litters coming up and any available puppies. Just do whatever you can to avoid backyard breeders...here is some good info: http://home.comcast.net/~NoPuppyMillsVA/What_is_a_Backyard_Breeder_/what_is_a_backyard_breeder_.html
Good luck!!!!!!
Sorry, forgot to add that it's especially important in your case to avoid backyard breeders because English Bulldogs do have so many health issues to begin with:
"It's been said that if you feel like supporting your vet with great chunks of money, get an English Bulldog. They suffer from hip problems, heart problems, and skin problems. Their compromised respiratory system makes it very risky to anesthetize them."
(from this website)
A good, reputable breeder will do everything they can to properly breed the dogs so as to minimize these problems as much as possible. Backyard breeders have no clue what they're doing, and their dogs probably don't come from good bloodlines to begin with, so it's basically a recipe for disaster and all these health problems will be exacerbated in your dog. Going through a good breeder might be more expensive and less convenient (i.e., they may have really long waiting lists), but it will be worth it in the long run.
Thank you ladies.. This is why we did not want to go to a pupple store since i have heard terrible stories. we have been trying to adopt for almost a year but english bulldogs are very sensitive dogs and we really prefer adopting a young puppy so that we know that atleast since we have had him since a puppy we have taken good care of him as much as possible.
Thank you for rec this site, we have not research this one... We really want to adopt and thats why we have waited for a year waiting another year for a resuced pup will be a great honor for us.
