calling Chicago nesties: restaurants and things to do?
I'll be in Chicago for a conference at the end of June. Can anyone recommend some restaurants and/or attractions that are easy to get to from the Convention Center?
I'm posting on the travel board as well. Thanks!
Re: calling Chicago nesties: restaurants and things to do?
you mean McCormick Place?
The South Loop is right in your backyard from there... a short cab ride. and there are a lot of city buses that go down there, too. I have a list of my favorite restaurants in my bio, but Room 21 (not sure if that's on there or not) and Cuarto are to of my favorites further south.
You are also close to Chinatown... which has some great restaurants and is fun to walk around.
I also highly recommend taking the Chicago River Architectural Boat Tour. There are a few different companies who do it, and they are all good. You can buy tickets online ahead of time or just go to the ticket booths at Michigan and Wacker. Its not close to McCormick Place but its not a terribly long taxi or bus ride. hth!
Because we're fancy like that.
You will also be a short cab ride away from all of the restaurants in Little Italy and Greektown. I like RoSal's, Francesca's and Rosebud in Little Italy. Pegasus and Costa's are both good and in Greektown.
