Best place to buy a bike in Madison?

I'm ready to upgrade my Huffy and recs of good bike shops in the area.  I know there are a ton, Williamson, Ericks, Machinery Row, etc., but I'm curious which ones have good selection, service, etc.  Anyone care to share their bike-buying stories?

The last bike I got was a Trek from someone who actually worked at Trek. There are Trek stores on both the East and West side though.

We bought ours at Machinery Row Bicycle. We ended up buying Treks, but they have lots of brands there. I really like that they allow you to take the bikes on a test drive on the bicycle path down by the lake. I thought the salespeople were quite knowledgeable (although it was sometimes hard to tell who worked there and who was just there shopping). They have a great service/repair shop there too.

So, I ended up going to Budget Bicycles on Regent.  I spent a little more than I was thinking I would, but I ended up with a very nice Giant bike.  We have a trailer for Sophia, too.  I can't wait to get out on the trails this summer!
