Baby Shower Locations?

Hi Ladies,

I'm usually on the BOTB boards but am looking for some local advice on places to have my baby shower. I was hoping for Casa Feliz but they are closed in August when I wanted to have it. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Melissa

Re: Baby Shower Locations?

  • How many people?

Other locations would be Farris and Foster Chocolate, Women's Club in Winter Park, Farmer's Market, the city of winter park rents out a few other places.

  • How about at your house?  That way you don't have to worry about trying to transport all of the awesome gifts you'll get!

Houlihan's on I-Drive has a private area upstairs that is really nice.

  • There are several cute places around town that would work but it really depends on how many guests you're expecting and how much the host wants to spend!  Any ideas on that?

I've been to nice tea party showers at the Ritz Carlton (which is around $30pp) and Trish's Teas in Baldwin Park (much cheaper and smaller, but just as cute), for example.

    Congrats on the twins, btw!!

  • A lot of restaraunts have private rooms you can rent out to use. I would try looking around to find a location you like the look and price of. Also you can go ask on theknot and see if those ladies have any suggestions...since they're all on the hunt for reception locations.

S/O showers...my tip for gift giving: give your gift in a small laundry basket instead of a cute bag...very gift I've given that way went over very well and they enjoyed being able to stack multiple items into the basket for carrying home. :-)

We went to Houlihans on 192 for my bachelorette party in Feb 09.....Don't. It was horrible! Our service was horrible, and the food wasn't that great. I know the PP said I-Drive....just sayin.

  • Congrats on twins!  I went to a bridal shower at Trish's Teas in Baldwin Park.  If you are having a small shower, it would work.  The teas and snacks were very tasty.
  • Congrats on your twins!  I don't know how much it would cost but maybe a clubhouse at one of the local country clubs or if you knew somone with a nice condo they might have a clubhouse too.

I am not sure when your due date is but you might want to consider having your shower sooner than August.  I say that because I almost didn't get to go to my shower due to the fact that I was in the hospital with PTL because of the twins.  I think I had my shower at 29 weeks and delivered at 32 weeks.  Not saying that you are going to have any problems but it's something to think about just incase;)

    Good luck!!!

  • I threw my sister in-law a shower at Celebration Townhall and it worked out well minus the fact that they had to cart the abundance of gifts home... it took 3 vehicles... two compact and one truck! And they only had one child! lol...

I also agree that you should have your shower maybe towards the end of July... my SIL had PCL and delivered a week and a half before her shower (she was 5 weeks early).  Remember, vistaprint.com has very inexpensive professionally printed invites!

good luck & congrats on twins!

  • Spice Steakhouse (Lake Eola location) is also really nice and u can rent out the room. It overlooks the lake. Also for a small shower what about Briar Patch on Park Ave..love that place!
  • Highland Manor in Apopka.  They just re-opened it, check it out!
