ART Fertility Program: Anyone have experience?

We are going to be seeing Dr. Ginny Houserman with the ART Fertility Program (at the Brookwood Medical Center) in Birmingham in June. Does anyone have any experiences with her or with the clinic?

Our insurance covers three of the doctors from ART who have hours in Montgomery but they are based out of Bham. They don't have any available appointments in Montgomery until August that work for us so we will be going up to Bham for our initial consult.

Just curious if anyone has had any experiences with them. They are the only REs that our insurance covers in the area.

Thanks! :)

  • Don't usually post here but thought I *might* be able to help.  I have seen RE's at St. Vincent's and UAB, but not with ART.  There is another girl from Auburn who was seeing someone up in Birmingham, but I'm not sure who... I just remember her being local... it's been awhile since I was on the boards.  She is on the Trouble TTC board off of the Bump website.  AuburnBride06 is her username.  You might try paging her there and see if she goes to that practice.  Sorry I can't help more, hopefully she might be able to!  Good luck!

Thank you! I have paged her, I (obviously) knew she is in Auburn but I have no idea who she sees. I didn't know it was someone in Bham. We are going to try to get to see the RE in Montgomery as often as possible but with my DH's work schedule (he's a coach at AU), we could only swing the Bham visit this time around.

  • YES!  I love the ART Program and. Dr. Houserman.  I really can't say enough good things about them.  I went in there a 4 months later was pregnant which was awesome considering I had been wasting time with my gyno trying round after round of Clomid.  I was actually sad to be discharged back to my OBGYN once I was done with ART.  :)

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me!  I will be going back to them this fall for #2!

    Good luck!

  • Please do!  There is a lot of stuff to digest that first appointment and they're very *thorough.*  Make sure your husband knows that he'll have to participate at this appointment.  ;)

And keep me posted!  I would love to hear how your appointment goes!
