Mother's Day

I'm having problems deciding.  I have ideas just can't decide which is the perfect gift.

I want champagne brunch at Golden Mast, and either a Zoo Pass or a watch.

What are you getting your mom? MIL?

What do you want? (and don't say spend time with my family, that's a given!)

Re: Mother's Day

  • Both my mom and MIL are getting "photo" sessions with a pro photographer and myself and my daugher (obv their granddaughter). My MIL had never had professional photos taken and we wanted to do something nice for her and my FIL, and my mother lives so far away and doesn't get to see Bella often so we thought a nice photo shoot of the three of us would work well.

As for what I want...no idea. The only thing I've asked DH for is the ability to go get a pedicure...other than that, nothing comes to mind. Lots of stuff I want but not afford (new running shoes, new Ipod, etc).

  • I got my mom and MIL some "Grandma's Show & Tell" photo books from Hallmark.  We also sent MIL a check so she can go out and get/do something for herself (lives in CA).  My dad just called and said he'd like to get my mom a digital camera so she has one before the baby comes, so we'll chip in a little for that.

I'm not offically in the "mom club" yet, so I'm not asking for anything...this year!  Wink

Hope all you mommies enjoy your day!

  • Both Mom and MIL are getting flowers. They like them and don't need anything else and aren't into spas so I just do hanging flower baskets.

I want a pair of earrings. I turn 30 in August and WANT a trip instead of a party so I haven't said anything to H about Mother's day :)

  • You're back!  How was the vacation?!?!

Usually I just get a neat pot and flower or plant a neat container arrangement for Mom and MIL.  That day is typically our workday to spruce up Grandma's yard.  Not sure I'm really going to have the energy to do any of that this year!  :(

T2 says I don't get anything since there won't be a baby yet...but Daisy has made me a card a few times.  :)

  • The cruise was wonderful.  The weather was perfect (90 and sunny) and we had a lot of fun, there is so much to do on the ship but we spent most of our time basking in the warm sun.
  • I'm giving my mom/MIL birthday calendars - the kind that you can reuse every year.

I told DH that I wanted 8 hours of sleep. I don't think I'll get what I want. Sad

As far as the zoo pass or the watch, thats a tough one. The zoo pass sounds so fun but the watch is something you can keep for a very long time. Sorry I'm no help.

  • Hanging baskets are a great idea for Mom or MIL. Good suggestion!
  • We're hosting a brunch at our house with both our immediate families and then taking everyone to the Brewer game that afternoon.

We decided to get a cleaning service ... so that's our mother's day and father's day gifts and more.

     :)
