The_Jen, a question

I remember in 3rd tri you mentioned that you got the Leksvik crib and furniture from Ikea.  I'm thinking of getting my daughter's crib at Ikea and I was wondering how you decorated your DD's nursery?  I really like the Leksvik line but I'm confused at to how to decorate around that.  Any help would be appreciated.

Re: The_Jen, a question

  • Hi!  I actually didn't end up getting the Leksvik... I hem-hawed (sp?) because I really wanted dark wood, but couldn't find any dark wood for under $200.  I didn't want to spend $400 on a crib.  I saw and fell in love with the Graco Lauren crib, and now that we are actually using it, I'm still really happy with it.  We bought ours from Target but they also have it at BRU and Walmart.com.

Then I bought a dresser at BRU and it matches the wood perfectly, but I can't remember the name of it... it has metal knobs and metal "feet" and it retails for about $500 I think?  We got ours with a small scratch on it, for $250 (score!).  It looks great in there and matches well.

Here's the crib with our bedding (and my toes in the front, lol):

  • I completely agree with you.  I don't want to spend $400 on a crib either.  I find it ridiculous.  I love the crib you got.  it's gorgeous.  Does it convert to a bed?  Anyway, thank you for the input.  I'm going to keep looking!
  • FYI, we got the Gulliver crib at IKEA, which is only $99.99 and then we got the Hemnes 3-drawer chest for $199 which we use for a changing table. Both are white and will fit well in any decor.?
