Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Important!

I haven't posted here in a LONG time, but we discovered something today on the West Coast Florida Nest board that I wanted to share here in case it affects any of you.?

There is a new site called www.ProjectWedding.com... a bunch of us found that our vendor reviews were stolen and posted here under fake names. You might want to check to be sure that the same thing didn't happen to you. In some cases, they changed the details slightly (for instance, I referenced Brides Against Breast Cancer and H's and my grandmothers who are breast cancer survivors, as well as his mom... and my "alter ego" changed it to my/her sisters... I emailed them and they took down the posts today, but there are some ladies still waiting. However, I encourage you to check to be sure.

Make sure you change your city when you visit (LA/OC is the default) and then search for some of your vendors to check...

Hope all of you are well and had BEAUTIFUL weddings!!!?

Re: Important!

  • Thanks for the info. I found that a couple of my reviews were posted under "USFBride." Some of them were word for word. All of the vendors she posted about were the ones I used, although a couple reviews were shortened or changed a bit. I'm wondering if there was some kind of incentive for writing a certain number of reviews.
  • That's what we thought too. I'm wondering if perhaps the idea was to contact brides to get them to post their reviews and someone took a shortcut by copying brides' responses... NOT cool.

I don't know if you post on the Central Florida board, but you may want to let them know.

We emailed the info@projectwedding email that's on there and got a response from Kristeen @ projectwedding.com. She removed all of our alter egos and their posts, but tossed out some comment about copyright, etc. (sort of like she was doing us a favor)... If I were you, I'd shoot her an email today.
