estherandgeoff: re ikea crib
Thanks for repsonding to my post about Ikea cribs. I really like the Gulliver crib. I saw it in your bio and on Ikea's website. How is your DD's room decorated? What color scheme are you using? I'm curious as to how to decorate my DD's nursery. For the record, we currently live in a one bedroom condo, however we'll be moving soon (hopefully) to a bigger place and I want her to have a pretty room.
Thanks!
Re: estherandgeoff: re ikea crib
We have white Gulliver cribs too. They have a new model that is wood color if that appeals to you more.
Have you looked on HGTV.com for ideas? http://www.roomzaar.com/rate-my-space/Nurseries/gallery.esi
Ummmm, your room is something out of a design magazine. I LOVE it!!! Who did that mural in the back. I'm so jealous. I couldn't decorate myself out of a paper back, hence I have to come to a message board to ask for advice.
Yes, I saw the gulliver in natural. It's really nice!
ETA: I meant to say I couldn't decorate myself out of a paper BAG. Ever since DD came along I haven't had a reading fix so books must've been on my mind when I wrote that. LOL!
Here are some pics of when we were working on it still. The murals were pretty easy to do. I borrowed a projector from work, hooked up my laptop to it and then projected it on the wall. then I traced it with a pencil and afterwards used black paint to fill it in.

Confession: The girls' nanny painted the mural.
She loves that kind of stuff. I would have gotten bored after buying the paint. She projected the design on the wall and drew it on. The hard part was that the wall is textured, so she had to paint into the grooves and still make it look like circles. She did the whole thing in two days when we were at the beach.
Check out www.whatisblik.com. If you have smooth walls you can just put up decals. My stepson has these in his room, and they're really cool, easy, and removable.
And another room shot/flashback photo from when the girls were 4 months old:
