PDX Kosher Caterer?

I'm super selfish.  Smile  There's another nestie that I've met IRL who is getting married and is considering changing her destination wedding to the Portland area.  But, she'll need a Kosher caterer. So I'm trying to find one so she'll come get married here.  Wink

I haven't had much luck finding anyone or really any info about it.

Any suggestions on where to start looking?  I've contacted Kenny & Zukes, Whole Foods and New Seasons but haven't gotten any responses from them.

Re: PDX Kosher Caterer?

  • Honestly, I have no idea. But I'd also contact Vibrant Table - their food is awesome and, from what I hear, they are really good at working around special requests.

Might also try Elephant's Deli. Good food - don't know if they do weddings. I've also had good food from Artemis catering.

Also - you should post on the local Knot board. It's more active (at least it used to be) and those ladies should be in the know about caterers.

  • Oh, theknot never crossed my mind.  I'll go post over there and see if they have any suggestions.

Thanks, and thanks for your ideas too!  :)

  • http://www.jewishportland.com/ has some information for you if you scroll down. My understanding is that the two venues that have Kosher food are the MJCC and the Doubletree. HTH
  • Thanks for the suggestion.  : )

I've gotten some responses from theknot.

Has anyone had experience with the MJCC & Doubletree catering by chance?

My brother and SIL had their wedding reception at the Llyod Center Doubletree in 2000. I wasn't involved with the planning, but it seems like it went smoothly. It was a long time ago, but I remember the food being good - basically standard wedding fare.
