We finally have DVR!!

DH installed our new satellite yesterday afternoon so I finally have DVR!  I can't wait to check out my new satellite package especially since we even got the HD stuff.  We watched the Stanley Cup game 1 last night in HD...so cool.  I even have the DVR set to record the Hills tonight

That is awesome! I wish we had DVR. I thought that we did but I can't get it to work so I guess we don't, haha.

Me neither!!!  LOL.  I'm such a techie that I've been really wanting it for a while but DH wouldn't let me get DVR until I let him get the HD package too and I thought it would be such a waste but since we were switching to Dish and he gets a discount we both got what we wanted...sort of.  DH picked what package we got and I swear we have way more channels than we really needed.  Men and their toys!

That's funny, we always had HD with our DVR even though we didn't have an HD tv.  Now that we do, we can finally enjoy the HD too.

Yay!  We love our DVR...not sure we would be able to live without it anymore!  I am afraid for when we move out of the area, that our new place won't have it.  We no longer feel like we have to home to watch a program.  The first month that we had it (way back when) we had over 40 hours of stuff saved to watch.  It was addictive setting to record different shows. Have fun!

I don't know what we'd do w/o our DVR now that we're so used to having it.  have fun!

What kind did you get? We have two different ones. One is actually a TiVo and the other one is Directv's . The TiVo,after I guess 4-5 year, the hard drive is going out and the Directv one, half the time doesn't record what it's set to record or will only record like 5 in a series and then stop. I beleive the TIVo has vastly improved since we got it and actually would like to get another one. The Directv.. well we'd like to through out the window.

It's through Dish network so its part of our satellite receiver.  We used to have DirecTV but without DVR but my DH now works for Dish so we switched.
