Hey ladies, I am near the Rock Hill area of SC. A kitten showed up on our doorstep Friday night. He/she is very cute and sweet but we can't keep it. We have two dogs who wouldn't get along with it. I have tried finding a rescue place but they are either full or not returning my phone calls. Our area shelter is a kill shelter and after speaking with them I am afraid the kitten, although VERY friendly, and loves being around people (lets you pick it up), may end up being euthanized.
I really don't want that to happen so I am looking for a home for it myself. I have no idea on its health so it would need to be taken to the vet for a check up. If you are interested please let me know. If you could please ask friends or family that would be great. If you want more info on the kitten or would like it please email me taagent@yahoo.com. THanks
Re: Looking for a new home for a kitten
Have you tried calling your vet? A lot of vets will hold them, or failing that, give you a referral for another rescue or put out adoption information for you.
Also, you might have some luck with one of the rescues listed on petfinder.com. It might not be in the Rock Hill area, but they might still take it.
I know you're trying to find this kitten a home, which is great, but think long and hard about putting it up for adoption online. Anyone could contact you and they may or may not be a good home (people who abuse animals via dogfight bait and/or torture have to get them somewhere).
Good luck and I'll keep my ear to the ground for you!
