How was your weekend?

Ours was a blast but super busy. Wedding on friday, bridal shower on saturday, and brunch/beach for my BFF's bday on sunday. Whew!   The whole time I kept thinking how tough it would have been to make it to everything if we had a child in tow.  So, as much as I'm looking forward to the future, I'm glad I can relish the independence and ease of our final child-free days :)

Re: How was your weekend?

  • Was good. Spent time with friends (including a girl I hadn't seen since high school and her husband), saw Up, got in a long run, and went to see a cool exhibit at my favorite DC museum, the Sackler Gallery.?

Sad about George Tiller. Not trying to start a political discussion, but I'm from Wichita and I was 12 during the "Summer of Mercy," and even though I've never met the man you can't grow up in Wichita without him feeling like a part of your life because he was not only in the news all the time, but he did a lot for his community.?

  • I had a really good weekend.  It wasn't anything fancy but it was just felt really good.

Friday - I arrived home from work to find a basket of cookies from a local Nestie friend and her hubby.  The cookies were to cheer us up and onward from our first bfn cycle.  I thought that was super sweet of them.

Saturday - we spent the entire day cleaning the garage and prepping for a garage sale we are having next weekend.  We also planted 3 new shrubs which required me to first move about a ton of slate rock and dig the bed :-p

Sunday - we ran errands and then met some friends at a greek festivial for a yummy lunch.

  • Pretty mellow weekend for us.  Went for lunch and a pedi with my Mom and S on Sat.  Watched movies on Sat night and nested on Sunday with a quick trip to target.   The crib came on friday which is great!  We wanted to get paint samples on Sat but the only paint place in the area that sells benjamin moore closed before we could get there and is not open Sunday. S is getting them today and hopefully she will be able to paint this week!  Then we can put the crib together!!!!!!!!  Nothing much happend but it was fun.  I am feeling pretty antisocial compared to ct bride though!

  • We had a very nice weekend overall.

I started it off stressed about our summer calendar, which is rapidly filling up.  Sometimes I just feel like we are pulled in so many directions with family and friends living in so many different places - trying to make time for everything, and some downtime for ourselves can be stressful, especialy when people don't always understand that we only have so much money to spend on all this travel!  But C and I talked it out and I felt better.  We are just going to have to remember to make time for ourselves, and try not to overdo it with commitments.

On Saturday, I had lunch with my mom, stepdad and brothers in the city while C caught up on homework and got my car inspected.  It was a gorgeous day, and it was nice to be out in the city and eat some good food.  That night, C and I relaxed together at home (after grocery shopping).

On Sunday, my dad, stepmom and sister came up for lunch, this time C came too and we were able to have a nice meal out in the sun.  Then C and I lounged on the porch and I did some cooking for the week.

It was very pleasant and I'm sad it had to end! I don't want to work today!! Stick out tongue

  • omg i feel like craaaaaaap. we had a busy weekend. saturday we helped some friends clean the house they just bought and then we all headed over to another friend's house to hang out and stuff. so i drank. a lot. enough that i was still drunk when i got up yesterday morning.

yeah. not good. i'm not usually a big drinker at all--i think this is the first time other than my birthday that i've even had anything since c got pregnant. we were supposed to go to watch our softball team play yesterday afternoon, but we were getting ready to leave when i decided i just couldn't. i did manage to get it together to go out to dinner with a couple we're pretty close to but hadn't actually seen in a while. i'm definitely still feeling it today.

  • Friday morning the guy came and fixed our A/C at the house and I felt like weeping with JOY I was so happy. Thursday when we got home from Tampa, we thought we might actually melt into sweat puddles. So we did the right thing and went to our local watering hole and hung out and had cockails. I mean they had A/C there...you see?? haha!

It has rained for like 8 days straight prior to this past weekend so the mosquitos are OUT OF CONTROL...so between overly saturated ground and bugs, there was NO yard work this weekend. We went to friends on saturday instead and grilled and hung out.

Sunday I was a dutiful daughter and mowed my mom's back yard since she has her hand in a cast from a lil surgery a week ago. Then we packed up and came back to Tampa for work this week.

    Nothing too exciting....

  • Ours was good!  Friday we relaxed at home for the evening.  Saturday we went to my 3 year old brothers birthday party and then went to visit my IL's. Sunday DW and I decided to dig the palm trees out of our patio and plant veggies and herbs instead.
  • We had a nice wekend.

We spent some time with family and it was great to see them with the girls. They love them so much already. LMC had her speech evaluation and I am thrilled that she will finally get the help she needs.

Even though I was tired it was so nice to get out of the house and see my family.

  • Friday - Went to a late dinner at our Mexican place. Got free tres leche cake. YUM.

Saturday - L took the kids to Lowes to buy plants while I stayed home to clean. I didn't get much done - damn Facebook. While she planted, the kids played and somehow we ended up with 7 UNSUPERVISED kids in our yard - ages 2-10. Seriously, who lets their 2 year old run around the neighborhood "supervised" by her 6 year old cousin??? After a couple of hours, we sent them all home (wherever that is) and bathed two muddy boys. We all took a family nap. After nap we went to return some clothes to Children's Place and buy Carter new shorts. How did he go from 2T to 4T in a month?? Ate at the mall with 2 squirmy children and went to the grocery store.

Sunday - Finished cleaning the house and ran to the grocery store and liquor store to get a few forgotten things. The boys Godfather and his new wife came over to celebrate their marriage (they got married at the courthouse last week.) L made awesome couscous, stuffed pork chops, and german chocolate cake. After they left, we all took a nap. Our friend and her son came over after nap and we hung out outside while the kids played with the water table, rode bikes, and played with their new foam swords (I still can't believe that L bought them swords. But are all about playing pirates these days and were using the bats for swords...) Grilled turkey burgers for dinner. I was out by 10.

It was a great weekend. I wish the weather was always like this.

  • Mine just ended. We spent most of the weekend relaxing at home and discussing summer plans. We've decided to go to Asheville for my b-day in a couple weeks. It's our first trip but I've heard it's lesbian mecca. We both took Monday off to finish all of the gardening we didn't do on Sat and Sun.

I've also been thinking a lot about George Tiller, and mortality in general.
