Baby shower question

Is it bad form for my mom to host my baby shower?  I googled it and there are conflicting opinions.  Some websites say it's fine and normal, others say it's not.

I think it sort of depends on the norm in your family/social circle. I think its kind of strange for moms to host showers like that, but I know some people don't.

My mom and MIL hosted mine. If they hadn't I wouldn't have had a shower which would've been fine too but I don't think many people thought it was strange. Like Jess said, it depends on your circle of family/friends.

My shower were hosted by Mom and MIL.  I think it was just easier for her to coordinate.

It's normal in our family as well as my friend's families. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Showers in my family are handled by aunts/cousins, but I could see if you don't have other family willing to do that, that having a mom/ MIL host would be ok, too.

It's normal in our families for moms to host too.  My mom and MIL hosted my baby shower.

 Also, the old fashion reasoning behind a mom not hosting a bridal shower (essentially increasing the "dowry" for a member of their immediate family) no longer applies because the married mom to be is no longer part of the mom's  or MIL's household.
