Anyone else have a DH that likes to "wing it"?

My H's 2 best friends are coming into town tomorrow for a week to visit. I know that my H has a few things in mind to do w/ them but I have been trying to nail down a plan from him for days and he keeps saying well we will just see how it goes! This is driving me nuts, I am obviously a planner and I will be working all week while they are playing so I am trying to plan my week also. Do I need to make dinners? Are they going out in the evenings this week, am I invited or is it boys only? etc. I don't care if they are going out every night doing guy stuff, but I would just like to know. I am thinking this is a typical guy thing but it sure is frustrating! Oh well maybe this will help me learn to "wing it" too!

  • Ah that would drive me nuts. Lucky for me (in this situation!!!) my husband is OCD like me with planning and scheduling :)

  • You described my marriage to the "tee." :) I'm a huge planner, and my husband likes to go with the flow. His philosophy makes trips back home to Michigan very difficult as we have a lot of family and friends to see in a short period of time. One day I hope to show him the benefits that come with advanced scheduling. ;)

  • My husband is half OCD, half "wing it".  Sometimes he'll plan things to do, other times he just plays it by ear.  It drives me nuts trying to figure out what he wants to do and when!
  • We're both pretty big planners. Sometimes we make ourselves wing it just to get out of our comfort zone.

  • I guess we are in the minority. DH is the planner and I am the wing it'er of the family. Especially when it comes to travel, I just wanna relax and go with the flow, and DH has an interinary complete with bathroom breaks. However, he has planned some great trips, so I cannot complain.
